Dutchess home gets record for lights

Kevin Lynch at the guinnessworldrecords.com reports that a Dutchess County family has regained its record for the most Christmas lights. The Gay family in LaGrangeville, regained the record for "Most Lights on a Residential Property" this year they they previously won in 2012. The family has 601,736 lights on two acres with more than 200 songs on an unlicensced FM frequency so passersby can listen from inside their cars. Visitors are allowed to drive up their driveway, with a donation bin to collect money for local charities. A national cracker company is sponsoring the display.
