Wilber resigns after 16 years as county treasurer

Jamie Larson in the Register-Star reports that Columbia County Treasurer Kenneth Wilber announced Thursday he will not seek re-election after 16 years in office. “It is the right time for me to step down and I do so with great pride and satisfaction in my service to the county,” said Wilber, a Republican, in the story. “It has been my privilege to work with four chairmen of the Board of Supervisors and their respective members.” Columbia County Republican Committee Chairman Greg Fingar could not be reached about who the party would nominate to replace him.
