Katie Kocijanski is reporting in the Register-Star the Ghent Democratic Committee has endorsed Patti Matheney and Koethi Zan for town board. Matheney is a long-time community volunteer. The organization she heads, GhentCANN, took an active role in challenging the rebuilding of TCI, and opposed the county airport expansion project. Matheney is a member of Columbia Memorial Health’s Board of Trustees and chairs its foundation board. Zan practiced law for more than 15 years before becoming a published author in 2013. She now heads Project Ghent. Zan serves on the boards of the Columbia-Greene Hospital Foundation and the Omi International Arts Center. Matheney and Zan are vying for two open town board seats. They will face the Ghent GOP-backed incumbent Pete Nelson and newcomer Mark Huston in November. Read the full story in the Register-Star.
