Schumer, Gillibrand vote against Pai

Ted Johnson reports in Variety that both New York senators voted Oct. 2 against re-upping Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai for another term. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand voted with all but four Democrats, but he was confirmed 52-41. Democrats forced a rare floor on an FCC nomination to criticize Pai’s proposal to roll back the current net neutrality rules, which allow equal access to all websites. Pai's proposal would allow companies that have large resources to set up "fast lanes" for customers who pay more. Pai also proposed recently rolling back the minimum standards for what is considered broadband. Read the full story in Variety.
