The Stevens Institute reports temperatures this week in the Hudson River at Schodack Island have been between 32 and 34 degrees, about two degrees colder than last week.

Massarah Mikati reports in the Albany Times Union that a body was pulled out of the Rensselaer City side of the Hudson River Dec. 20. The man's body was first spotted by an Amtrak train conductor who saw it while crossing the Livingston Avenue Bridge, police reported. There was a report of someone jumping off that bridge, the police said. Read the full story in the Albany Times Union.

WPIX-11 reports that 37-year-old Poughkeepsie woman Angelika Graswald, who was kayaking with her fiance in the Hudson River in 2015 when he died. Investigators initially believed Graswald removed a drain plug on her fiance's kayak. Later she admitted she should have perceived the risk of danger before his death. In November she was sentenced to 16 months to four years in prison, and was released Dec. 21 on time served. Read the full story at the WPIX-11 website.

The Daily Freeman reports that the Hudson River Maritime Museum hosts a program about ice harvesting on the Hudson River at 1 p.m. Jan. 20.
