The Daily Freeman is reminding those not already registered to vote, the deadline to register is fast approaching. The last day to enroll is Fri., Oct. 9. To apply to register in person, individuals can go to their county Board of Elections office or to any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act. Registration forms can be found online, as well. The Greene County Board of Elections is located at 411 Main St., Suite 437, Catskill, and the Columbia County Board of Elections is at 401 State St., Hudson. Mail-in registration applications must be postmarked no later than October 9, and received by a board of elections by October 14, to be eligible to vote on November 3. Any person honorably discharged from the U.S. military or who has become a naturalized citizen after October 9, may register in person at the Board of Elections up until October 24.
