Metroland offices seized by state tax officials

Casey Seiler in the Capitol Confidential blog in the Albany Times-Union reports that state Department of Taxation & Finance officials seized the offices and property of Metroland, an Albany-based alternative weekly newspaper, for non-payment of taxes on Nov. 3. Stephen Leon, Metroland’s editor and publisher, told Seiler that as of the afternoon of Nov. 3, the paper had not yet decided how to react. “I’m not going to have much to tell you at this point,” Leon said.
