Hillsdale to get website overhaul, culvert project to begin
Jul 31, 2019 2:00 pm
Hillsdale Town Supervisor Peter Cipkowski is reporting in The Columbia Paper on the July 10, Hillsdale Town Board meeting. During that meeting, the board accepted a bid of nearly $6,800 from TownWeb for an upgrade to the Hillsdale town website. The company specializes in municipality website design. TownWeb will overhaul the existing site and provide mobile responsiveness, in addition to automatic technical and security updates. The company also offers an additional design refresh every three years. The work will begin on August 1 and should be finished by fall. In other business, Highway Superintendent Richard Briggs has identified four compromised culverts at various locations throughout the town. Hillsdale will partner with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Trout Unlimited, and the Housatonic Valley Association to review the current condition of the culverts. The plan is to reconnect degraded waterways and restore the trout populations. The proposed work includes removal or replacement of culverts, creek restoration and rock dam modification and will progress over the next few years. The town board will next meet 7 p.m., Tue., Aug. 13. Read more about the July 10 meeting in The Columbia Paper
