Columbia-Greene Community College has been named the top community college in New York and one of the top 10 community college in the country, in a report by the personal finance website WalletHub. The school made the announcement on its website, August 20. Columbia-Greene, a campus of the State University of New York, placed 10th out of 710 community college in the U.S. It rose to the top spot in the state rankings in the areas of cost and financing, as well as education and career outcomes. The data used to determine the school's ranking were collected from the National Center for Education Statistics, Council for Community and Economic Research and College Measures. During the recent academic year, tuition and fees for full-time, in-state enrollment at a public two-year college averaged under $4,000 per year nationwide, compared to more than $10,000 at a public, four-year institution, and $36,000 at a four-year private school.
