MidHudson News is reporting longtime Ancram Town Judge George Wittlinger, as well as Daniel Wittlinger, his son, have been sued in Columbia County Supreme Court under the New York Child Victims Act. The case was filed Mon., Oct. 19, by an 18-year-old woman alleging sexual abuse. The woman has chosen to remain anonymous. According to court documents, the young woman and Daniel Wittlinger began a relationship in the summer of 2017. Shortly after the judge moved the then 15-year-old plaintiff and her 9-year-old sister into his Ancramdale residence, the plaintiff alleges he began encouraging her to have sex with his teenage son. Additionally, the plaintiff says the judge would drive her to and from high school and offer gifts and money in exchange for sexual favors for both him and his son. Court documents quote the plaintiff as saying the sexual demands made by the Wittlingers "...caused extreme physical and emotional discomfort for the plaintiff who continues until the day of this pleading to suffer from anxiety as a result of these acts...” A call from MidHudson News to Judge Wittlinger seeking comment about the allegations was not returned. Wittlinger has served as Ancram Town Justice for 20 years. Read the full story at MidHudsonNews [dot] com.
