Kyle Adams is reporting in The Daily Mail local officials say it is looking unlikely that either Greene or Columbia counties will be getting a casino. Midnight Wednesday was the deadline to apply for casino approval and submit the application fee of $1 million to the New York State Gaming Commission. The area near the Thruway is not "shovel-ready," he said. Warren Hart, director of Economic Development, Tourism and Planning for Greene County said it is not impossible for a bid to be entered for a project in the county, just highly unlikely. Officials in Columbia County said they have not been approached by any casino developers. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
