Date set for second vote on GCSD capital project
May 29, 2015 7:10 am
The Register Star is reporting the Germantown Central School District will ask voters for a second time to approve its proposed capital project June 11. The $11.4 million plan was previously rejected March 10. This time, the Board of Education has decided it will present the proposal in two parts. Voters will first be asked to authorize $5.97 million for building maintenance and repairs. The second proposition would include a variety of other items, including renovation of the baseball/softball field, district-wide masonry restoration and water mitigation. According to Superintendent Susan L.S. Brown, the second proposition would only be considered if the first is approved. If the maintenance choice fails, the second choice fails with it, she said. The district will hold two public information sessions on the plan, Wed., Jun. 3, and Tue., Jun. 9. Both meetings will be held at 6 p.m. at the school. Information is available at Germantown CSD [dot] org. Read the full story in the Register Star.
