Vincent Barone is reporting for the New York Post that Samantha Shader, 27, of Catskill, is one of three people indicted late last week on federal charges for allegedly tossing Molotov cocktails at an NYPD vehicle during George Floyd protests in New York City, early in the morning of May 30. Shader is accused of throwing the explosive at the vehicle when it was occupied by four police officers. Prosecutors further allege Shader bit one of the officer’s legs when she was being taken into custody. Shader faces life in prison after being charged with the use of explosives, arson, use of explosives to commit a felony, arson conspiracy, use of a destructive device, civil disorder, and making or possessing a destructive device. No police were hurt by the explosives — Shader’s lit bottle never ignited. Prosecutors said her actions were allegedly caught on camera. Also indicted, Brooklyn lawyers Urooj Rahman, 31, and Colinford Mattis, 32, who were likewise accused of pitching a Molotov cocktail at an unoccupied police vehicle during a separate incident.
