School districts in Columbia and Greene counties have announced changes to their school calendars because of the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Hudson Valley, beginning March 16. The specifics of those changes vary from district to district.
Tthe Catskill Central School District anounced Mon., Mar. 16, it will offer free lunch and snacks to its students at central locations throughout the district during the COVID-19 shutdown, from March 18 through 20; and from March 23 through 27. A full list of distribution locations and times are available at CatskillCSD [dot] org. The Hudson City School District is developing a plan to provide meals for students while schools are closed from March 18 through 27. As soon as a plan and locations are finalized, the information will be shared on the district's website. In the meantime, “grab and go” meals will be provided to students at school Tue., Mar. 17, to take home for the rest of this week. Cairo-Durham and other districts are also reporting their intention to provide meals to students who participate in their lunch programs. Pick-up or delivery logistics will be shared when they have been finalized.
