Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star, the Columbia County Industrial Development Agency approved tax abatements for Premier Brands of America and its planned facility at 128 North Second St. in Hudson. The unanimous vote taken Tues., Mar. 20, will save the company more than $237,000 in city, school and county property taxes over a period of 10 years, according to the IDA. The company will also be exempt from the county's 1.25 percent mortgage recording tax, and sales tax on the purchase of building materials for its new 70,000-sq.-ft. space. Premier is the producer of health and skin care products, and is expected to employ 25 workers once open for business. IDA Board member Donald Kline said “it’s a great project for the city of Hudson and Columbia County. I am so pleased to see the cooperation between Hudson and Columbia County.” Read the full story in the Register Star.
