Emily Masters reports in the Times Union that state and county officials closed a bridge in deteriorating condition Dec. 18 in Schodack in Rensselaer County. The bridge takes county Route 4 or Van Hoesen Road over rail lines in Schodack. Last replaced in the mid-1990s, it was due for repair next year. County officials have yet to announce a detour route.
