Cairo re-opens zoning discussion

Jan 31, 2016 12:03 am
Cairo's first zoning law passed Oct. 5 after over eight years and 60 public meetings, and on Feb. 1 the process starts again. The first proposed change to the law, making the current "Hamlet-Cairo" zone on the west end of Main Street become "Main Street-Commercial," is up for a public hearing. The new zoning law took effect Dec. 1. The public hearing about zoning and the town's monthly board meeting are at 7 p.m. Mon., Feb. 1 at Cairo Town Hall.
