State police sergeant named HPD chief

Daniel Johnson is reporting in the Register Star Hudson Police Commissioner Gary Graziano announced Tues., Mar. 5, the appointment of L. Edward Moore as the city's new police chief. Moore is replacing Ellis Richardson, who retired last month. Moore is a 32-year veteran police officer. He was previously serving as the First Sergeant of the State Police's Troop K. From 1981 to 1987 Moore served as a uniform trooper in the area. Moore is the recipient of six superintendent commendations and an award for Troop K Supervisor of the Year.
