Athens voters choose Pfister, June and Patsky

Melanie Lekocevic is reporting in The Daily Mail Democrat Chris Pfister won the Athens mayor race, Tues., Mar. 19, but the first-time candidate did not run unopposed, as expected. Current Mayor Andrea Smallwood received 63 write-in votes, though she previously announced her decision not to run for re-election. Incumbent trustees Robert June and Anthony Patsky, both Democrats, defeated independent candidates Rick Surrano and Francesco Taccetta. The Republican Party had no candidates in the race.
