Apr 29, 2022 1:45 pm
The Times Union reports that after initially ignoring the Hudson Valley, the state has added a public hearing in Peekskill for the state's climate plan. New York had initially scheduled ten public hearings, but now that number goes to 11. The public has until June 10 to submit comments about New York's plan to reduce global climate change. The Hudson Valley public hearing will be held May 12 at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, 1008 Brown St., Peekskill. The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act requires New York to reduce economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent by 2030 and no less than 85 percent by 2050 from 1990 levels.
