McLaughlin officially in for Rensselaer County executive

Kenneth C. Crowe II reports in The Albany Times Union that Assemblymember Steve McLaughlin has officially filed papers with the state Board of Elections to run for Rensselaer County executive. Earlier in the week Deputy Rensselaer County Executive Christopher Meyer, also a Republican, announced that he wants to take over for the retiring Kathleen Jimino as Rensselaer County executive. McLaughlin has early endorsements from state Conservative Party Chairman Michael R. Long and former U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson. Read the full story in The Albany Times Union.
