Speakers confirmed for Friday gambling forum

Kyle Adams is reporting in The Daily Mail State Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk (KAT-chik) and State Assemblyman Pete Lopez have been confirmed as guest speakers at the upcoming public forum on casino gambling in Leeds, Fri., Nov. 1. Chris Higgins, a member of the state’s legal team that drafted the Upstate New York Gaming Economic Development Act will also take part. On Tues., Nov. 5, New Yorkers will vote on a proposition that would amend the state’s constitution to allow seven casinos to be established on non-Indian land in three regions of upstate New York. The forum is meant to provide technical information about the bill, measure public opinion, discuss concrete options for possible casino locations, and gather questions that cannot be immediately answered. The forum will be held at Anthony’s Banquet Hall in Leeds at 5 p.m. Friday. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
