Job growth up in Columbia; lags in Greene

Mid-Hudson News Network is reporting job growth continued in the Hudson Valley in the 12 months ending in December 2012. The state Labor Department reported on Thurs., Jan. 17, a 5,600 increase in the number of jobs, or 0.8 percent. Columbia County had the largest growth at 1.3 percent, while Greene County jobs fell by one percent. This was the weakest December growth in three years across the region, the state said.
