Ancram building new storage shed

Diane Valden reports in the Columbia Paper that the town of Ancram is getting a new shed to house its off-season equipment, though it is smaller than the current shed, and its expense will delay other projects in the town. Ten years after spending $650,000 to renovate its 6,400-square-foot shed, Ancram will build a 3,200-square-foot shed for $250,000. Ancram Supervisor Art Bassin said that because of the shed cost, the town “can’t do everything else we wanted to do this year” like repave the parking lot and put a new roof on the Town Hall, but “we’ll deal with it.” The expense brings the year-end cash projection to $609,000, down from the $718,000 year-end cash projection Ancram had last month.
