Larry DiDonato reports for Porcupine Soup that Dutchman’s Landing's boat ramp in Catskill is closing Tuesday, September 5 so it can be replaced. It will be unavailable until the first couple of weeks in November. Local boaters who want to get on the Hudson River will need to use nearby public ramps in Athens, Coxsackie, or Germantown. The Catskill boat launch will be closed for the beginning of duck season in the Southeastern Zone, which opens on October 21 and closes on December 3. Catskill is spending $290,000 in taxpayer money to Flach Industries of Selkirk, to replace the boat launch. Read more about this story in Porcupine Soup.
