Ghent has infrastructure problems
Aug 02, 2017 12:04 am
Claire Gilbert reports in The Columbia Paper that there are things in Ghent falling apart. But the tennis courts behind the Dairy Queen that have fallen into disrepair will have to wait. A truck recently crossing a bridge on Angel Hill Road "caused the bridge to be pushed down," closing the road perhaps until next spring.
The board agreed July 20 to spend $9,000 with the Albany-based engineering firm Barton and Loguidice to begin the work to replace the bridge. The next Ghent Town Board meeting has been moved from August 17 to August 24 at the Ghent Town Hall. Before the regular meeting, the board will conduct a public hearing at 6:45 about the renewal of the West Ghent Fire Department’s six-month contract. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
