Democrats Patti Matheney and Koethi Zan have announced they will officially launch their campaign this week for Ghent Town Board. Both candidates have been endorsed by the Democratic, Independence and Working Families parties. Zan, an attorney and author, currently serves on the Ghent Zoning Board of Appeals and the Ghent Zoning Review Committee. She also serves on the boards of Art Omi and Columbia County Youth Theatre. Incumbent Matheney, is seeking re-election based on her ability to secure funding to renovate the West Ghent Community Center and resurface the town's athletic courts. She also the founder of the Ghent Broadband and Connect Columbia committees. Matheney and Zan will kick off their campaign with an event at the Barn at Locust Hill Farm, September 7, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
