News from around the local radio dial:
• WGXC added two new shows this week. "Fresh Greens" from DJ Bby Arugula airs the second Monday each month from 9:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., and, "features forward-thinking, primarily electronic music, with new and old alongside live manipulations." Also "Stooprock Radio Takeover" hosted by Tall Matt is now on the first, third, and fifth Friday each month from 9:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. with, "underground hip hop and house music in addition to throwback funk, soul, jazz, and disco." Finally, "Free Speech Radio News" is no longer on WGXC. It used to air 6:30 p.m. Fridays. Send comments to info@wgxc.org about any programming issues. • The Rip Van Winkle Amateur Radio Society holds their December meeting at 7 p.m. Mon., Dec 21, at the Churchtown Firehouse in Columbia County. They are holding their holiday fest this week, with a raffle. • WGXC will also air the annual Santa tracking from NORAD this Christmas eve. Tune in for hourly reports Dec. 24 tracking the trip of Santa Claus around the world by radar.
