Appeals court upholds gun licensing process

Jimmy Vielkind reports at Capitol Confidential a federal court has rejected a challenge to New York’s process for the licensing of concealed handguns, The Second Circuit Court of Appeals decision rejected an argument that New York's procedure to acquire a license to carry a concealed weapon unduly burdens a gun-owner's right to bear arms under the Second Amendment. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman called the decision a victory for New York state law, the U.S. Constitution and families across New York.
