Clean-up day in Cairo this weekend

Jessica Mosier reports in The Daily Mail Sat., Oct. 12 is clean-up day in Cairo. Town board member Ray Suttmeier has been working to finalize plans for the event during the past few months. Cairo residents will be able to drop off items at the County Transfer Station on Route 385 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. To participate residents must obtain a free permit from the Town Clerk's Office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Fri., Oct. 11, to receive a permit. A proof of residency is required. So far, more than 100 permits have been issued. No household garbage, construction or demolition debris, paint, pesticides or hazardous items will be accepted, nor will more than two tires and one propane tank per household.
