Cuomo signs single-use plastic bag ban

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting Governor Andrew Cuomo signed New York's single-use plastic bag ban into law April 22. The measure takes effect in 2020, and requires shoppers to bring reusable bags for their groceries or other purchases. Later the same day, Cuomo ceremonially signed the same bill at an event at the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston. Cuomo said that while conditioning oneself to bring reusable bags when shopping may be a minor inconvenience, it will provide a significant way to reduce the pollution they cause to the environment.
