GNH Lumber closes Coxsackie location

Greg Hudson is reporting in The Daily Mail the GNH Lumber store in Coxsackie permanently closed its doors, Wed., Nov. 30. GNH owner Genn Hagen said the company's Greenville and Windham locations will remain open. "What we found is that Coxsackie over the past several years was being covered by the Greenville store 14 miles away. With Greene County being a very rural, residential county, we were servicing the entire county through our Windham and Greenville facilities," Hagan said. "Three locations in Greene County is just not viable in the long-term," said company spokesman Mark Gustavson. Six of the 11 Coxsackie store employees accepted transfers to other GNH locations, Hagan said. The remaining five employees were laid off with severance, as a result of regular seasonal staff reductions. Hagan said the closure will not affect the company’s delivery service, which is based at its Greenville location. GNH Lumber is a family owned full-service lumberyard, home center and design and installation operation headquartered in Greenville, with year revenues of $10 to $50 million.
