Steve Hughes reports in the Times Union that a prisoner escaped from the Albany County jail Aug. 3. The unidentified prisoner scaled a perimeter fence and a secondary security fence around 10 a.m. and ran toward the Shaker Ridge Country Club. But corrections officers witnessed the escape, and caught the escapee on the golf course across Albany Shaker Road. The man was charged with felony escape and was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment of injuries he received scaling one of the security fences.
