July 4th celebrations scheduled

The July Fourth holiday falls on Thursday this year, which means the celebrations will go on for days, the Times Union reports. Festivities will be held July 3 in Saratoga, Schenectady and Warren counties. Also, Scribner's Lodge in Hunter hosts a BBQ from 6-10 p.m. with fireworks at dusk on July 3, and the Coxsackie Farmers Market has live music at 4 p.m. by James Dykeman and 6:30 p.m. by Wyld Blu and fireworks at 9:15 at Coxsackie Riverside Park on the day before the holiday. The big state celebration, presented by Price Chopper and Market 32, will be held from 3 to 10 p.m. at Empire State Plaze, Thu., July 4. The live entertainment this year includes Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx with Sawyer Fredericks and Powerhouse Fund band. In Columbia County, Kinderhook's annual People's Parade will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Rothermel Park on Broad Street, and there is "An Old-Fashioned Independence Day" from 2-10 p.m. at the Clermont State Historic Site with 18th century crafts, period reenactments, unnamed live music, and fireworks. Greene County will celebrate the Fourth at Angelo Canna Town Park, on Mountain Avenue, in Cairo. from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with music, food and activities. The fireworks happen at dusk. In Rensselaer County, it is the Tri-City ValleyCats versus the Hudson Valley Renegades in the annual Fourth of July Minor League Baseball game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks follow the game. And Catskill celebrates Independent Day on Friday, July 5, with music by Guilty Pleasure, food and kids activities at Dutchman's Landing. The Farmers Market opens at 4 p.m., and music begins at 7 p.m. Fireworks are at dusk. And then on Sat., July 6 there are fireworks in East Durham at the Michael J.
