Capital Region advocates and families impacted by the overdose crisis will observe International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) by remembering those lost to overdose, and demand action to prevent future deaths. Speakers will focus on harm reduction, treatment, recovery, racial equity, and other issues/approaches central to preventing future deaths and harm. Remyx LeRebel has been rapping and making beats for over 10 years in Hudson, with work on soundcloud and youtube. Ifetayo is a poet and a visual artist that lives in Hudson.

Greg Fox is a multi-instrumentalist, interdisciplinary artist, and teacher born and based in New York City. A versatile and prolific creative, Fox studied percussion with Guy Licata, Thurman Barker, Marvin “Bugalu” Smith, has a B.A. in Integrated Arts from Bard College, and has toured, recorded and released numerous records with Liturgy, Guardian Alien, ZS, Ex Eye, Skeletons, Teeth Mountain, Dan Deacon, Colin Stetson, Ben Frost, and many more.

The Catskill Town Board meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Board Committee meetings usually held on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

The library's first curated local history exhibition, "Wish You Were Here: A Look Back at Life in Hudson Through Vintage Postcards," opens September 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Featuring a presentation on the collection hosted by Gary Sheffer, a native of Hudson, as well as a wine & cheese reception and postcards and t-shirts for sale. The Hudson Area Library History Room has collected an extensive set of postcards from this river city that tell personal stories about life here 100 years ago. Curated by David Murphy, former president of the Hudson Area Library Board of Trustees and member of its History Room Committee. Mickle Maher wrote this play about a pair of William Blake scholars engaging in an impromptu public display of affection on the campus quad who risk losing their jobs.
