Montreal musical collective Godspeed You! Black Emperor will return to Basilica Hudson on Thursday, August 9th. The band, who last performed at Basilica in 2015, recently released their seventh full-length album Luciferian Towers on their own self-run record label Constellation. The show will mark the band’s third performance at Basilica Hudson.

Inspired by Warhol’s Factory, artist Francine Hunter McGivern founded Jungle Red Studios in 1977 in the then-desolate New York City neighborhood of Tribeca. Described by Michael Musto as “the ultra chic spot for witty beautification,” the space soon became known among members of the city’s avant-garde as a dynamic venue for exhibitions and performances. At the same time, under the nom d’arte of Jungle Red, Hunter McGivern developed her own experimental work in multimedia installation, theater, and performance. Episodic Memory l 1977 – present is an expansive, 40 year survey of the artist’s work and features video, photography, drawings, paintings, three-dimensional installations, and ephemera from Jungle Red. St. Rocco's Reading Series inaugural Stream (St. Rocco's Electronic Art and Music salon) will be held at at the Albany Free School August 11.
