Robert MacGiffert, who will join the Cairo-Durham Board of Education as of July 1, 2014, spoke during the public comment period at the June 19, 2014 C-D Board of Education meeting. His comments focused on his observation that a bulk of BOE meeting time was spent on space and transportation, and that he felt the focus of BOE meetings should be about the quality of education in the District. Additionally MacGiffert spoke to the news, which was announced that morning, regarding the resignation of C-D Elementary Principal Scott Richards. MacGiffert advocated for Richards to be given an exit survey, in the hopes that the District might be able to avoid the any further exodus of staff.
