Wave Farm welcomes resident Aaron Dilloway (Oberlin).
WGXC seeks to secure 250 new supporters.
New MAAF guidelines will be available later this month.

Aaron Dilloway

In-residence: October 5 - 14, 2018
Live Broadcast: Saturday, October 13, 2018, 4 - 6 p.m.
WGXC 90.7-FM, or wavefarm.org/listen

"Everyone Eats Garbage" is a radio work informed by a large archive of obsolete sound effects tape carts that were once used by KXLU 88.9-FM in Los Angeles. Dilloway extends the life of these abandoned and outdated radio artifacts by cutting, splicing, looping, and manipulating them into a new and substantial work for broadcast.

Aaron Dilloway is a celebrated improviser and composer who works with 1/4" tape loops in 8-track cartridges as well as other discarded electronic equipment. In his performance-based practice, he manipulates magnetic tape in real-time by feeding the loops sounds from his body, everyday objects, electronic sources, prepared tapes, as well as the occasional actual instrument. https://aarondilloway.bandcamp.com

Become a Wave Farm's WGXC 90.7-FM
Sustaining Supporter

WGXC's Pull Over Pledge Drive, runs until October 23, 2018. During this time, we are looking to welcome 250 monthly sustaining donors to WGXC. Growing a community of sustaining supporters is vital to the station’s longevity.

During this pledge drive, we are asking you to stop for a moment, to pull over from whatever it is you’re doing, and donate your support to WGXC a truly unique station where where radio is celebrated as an artistic medium and experimental sounds are given an ample platform.

If listening to WGXC is new to you, we ask that you tune in either at 90.7 on your FM dial in New York's Upper Hudson Valley or online at wavefarm.org/listen, or the Wave Farm Radio app, or the TuneIn app. We promise you will encounter new and familiar sounds, be challenged, provoked, entertained, and even delighted.

To make a monthly, recurring donation, or to make a one-time gift, visit wavefarm.org/wgxc/donate or call 518-697-7400 and pledge your support of Wave Farm's WGXC Creative Community Radio.

2019 Media Arts Assistance Fund Guidelines and Application Calendar Coming Soon!

The Media Arts Assistance Fund is being revised to better serve the New York State Art & Technology community. Central to this process are the recent NYSCA EMF Media Arts Assistance Fund Surveys, which Wave Farm distributed to past grantees last month. We received an impressive rate of response. Thank you! Survey responses will play an important role as we refine MAAF guidelines in advance of the 2019 application calendar, both for New York State media artists, and organizational and professional development support.

The 2019 MAAF Guidelines will be published late October/early November, and we encourage all New York State media artists and media arts organizations to plan accordingly.

The New York State Council on the Arts in Partnership with Wave Farm: Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF) supports electronic media and film organizations, as well as individual artists, in all regions of New York State. The Fund provides unique and critical support with a focus on sustainability and public engagement. MAAF is made possible through a regrant from the NYSCA Electronic Media and Film program. Please visit wavefarm.org/mag for more information and direct all questions to info@wavefarm.org.

Wave Farm programs are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature; the National Endowment for the Arts; The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts; the Greene County Legislature through the County Initiative Program, administered in Greene County by the Greene County Council on the Arts; the Alexander and Marjorie Hover Foundation; the Foundation for Contemporary Arts; the T. Backer Fund; the Joseph Family Charitable Trust; and hundreds of other generous individual donors.
