Join the "Open Air" show live at the Catskill Community Center for a special pancake breakfast made with local eggs, and topped with local maple syrup. There will be a local maple syrup tasting. The local radio show about radio, "Open Air," hosted by Matt Bua with a cast of many regular characters, will be broadcasting live from the pancake breakfast. So have your say on the air, fill your belly with local food, and help your local community radio station. Pancake breakfast runs from 8-10:30 a.m., and we will poll pancake tasters about their favorite local syrups. At 11 a.m., on the air, we will reveal those results. $6-10 sliding scale includes a helping of pancakes and water, juice, or coffee. Second helping of pancakes $5. Tune in or turn out.
Thanks for the donations of eggs and maple syrup:
• Old Field Farm in Cornwallville, in Greene County.
• Ravens Roost in Hannacroix, in Greene County.
• Catskill Grocery on Main St. next to the Catskill Community Center.
• Jared Handelsman in Catskill, in Greene County.
• Germantown Community Farm in Germantown, in Columbia County.
• B-Home in Catskill in Greene County.
• Various anonymous donations.
All proceeds from this event go to improving the WGXC studio in the Catskill Community Center. The studio currently needs professional-grade microphones, professional-grade CD players (we have too many subpar CD players), a new hard drive, a Technics 1200 turntable, CB radios, and shortwave receiver/transceivers, and other audio equipment. If you have anything to donate, email info@wgxc.org.
