From Pacifica Radio's "From the Vault." In our first talk from 1964 Ray Bradbury who at this point had published his most noteworthy books, The Martian chronicles, Fahrenheit 451 and The Illustrated Man. But this interview by Francis Roberts was right on the heels of his 1962 novel Something Wicked This Way Comes. This talk is appropriately called The World of Ray Bradbury as he clearly traces the motivation for his unique writing style from his childhood to the present. In this next speech delivered at the International Colloquium on Mars in December 1973, Bradbury reflects on the literary and visionary masters before him that inspired him as a child to dream. He implores each of us to set popular culture aside for a moment so that we can focus on our own dreams. It is these dreams that will help us evolve here on Earth and One day.... navigate the stars.
