Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center announces the 2009 New York Electronic Art Festival, a month-long series of concerts, workshops, and exhibitions centered on the cutting-edge work being done at the intersection of art and technology. The festival will take place from September 29 - October 28, 2009 and will feature the highest quality work in the evolving field of art and technology. Presentations will include New York City resident artists as well as the most exciting work from around the globe. The New York Electronic Art Festival Exhibition: September 29 – October 24 (Tues. – Sat. Noon-4) @ World Financial Center Courtyard Gallery. Rate of Change - time and space in electronic art, an exhibition featuring “Hand-drawn Spaces” by Merce Cunningham, Paul Kaiser and Shelley Eshkar, and other works by Céleste Bousier-Mougenot, Hisao Ihara, Julia Heyward, Eunjung Hwang, Jessica Ann Peavy, Christine Sugrue and CCRT, a collaboration between LoVid and Douglas Repetto. Produced in partnership with arts>World Financial Center which is sponsored by American Express, Battery Park City Authority, Brookfield Properties, and Merrill Lynch. www.artsWorldFinancialCenter.com Festival Concerts: October 16 – 18 @ Roulette Improvisation and New Media featuring performing artists Shadow Puppies, Nic Collins vs Nick Collins, Ikue Mori & the League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots, Miya Masaoka, Peter Blasser, David Galbraith, Laeatitia Sonami, Lucky Dragons, Joker Nies, Triple Point, Andrew Deutsch & Peer Bode, Moritz Wettstein. October 26 @ NYU Loewe Theatre will continue the series with a special performance by Atau Tanaka & Adam Parkinson and George Lewis & Marina Rosenfeld.
