During World War II, a "Ghost Army" created fake radio broadcasts, and played sound effects and used theatre prop tanks to fool the Germans. Now, every U.S. invasion includes immediately setting up pirate radio stations. The military also develops sound weapons for use on the battlefield, and currently uses radio-controlled drones to kill targets around the world.
