Wave Farm IT Consultant Opportunity

Wave Farm seeks a technician to maintain and troubleshoot organizational IT infrastructure including network management, hardware, and systems administration.

Wave Farm, an international transmission arts organization that operates WGXC 90.7-FM Radio for Open Ears. Wave Farm is based in New York’s Hudson Valley with brick and mortar locations in Acra, Catskill, and Leeds, NY.

The IT Consultant will install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral system components through on-site and remote support. They will monitor and troubleshoot backups, interfaces to equipment, software, and organizational systems including:

Internet

• WiFi networks at all Wave Farm locations, including static IP and DNS

Hardware

• Storage, OS, and software updates (ensuring compatibility)
• New hardware acquisitions

Software

• WGXC broadcast automation (Radiologik) and other organizational platforms and tools (Logmein, etc.) customizing in conjunction with other organizational systems
• Vendor communication as needed

Cloud-based Productivity and Collaboration Tools

• Support organizational leadership in management of Wave Farm’s Google Workspace, Airtable, Dropbox, Zoom, etc.

Cybersecurity

• Support organizational leadership in management of Wave Farm’s password management
• Advise the organization on security issues and implement ways to protect the organization from potential hacks and other IT-related risks

Qualifications
Ideal applicants have expertise in Mac OS, but are also proficient in Windows and Linux when needed. Applicants should have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals including understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations in a Mac environment. Scripting skills, including AppleScript and shell scripting, are preferred. Successful candidates conduct themselves with professionalism and have a proclivity for detailed documentation, strong problem solving and communication skills, and a commitment to Wave Farm’s mission and programs.
