Turn out for Wave Farm's WGXC 90.7-FM’s karaoke contest fundraiser at Half Moon in Hudson on Friday, May 10th. The evening will be hosted by Karaoke Amanda of WGXC show "Dim the Lights with Jenny and Amanda" with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting WGXC.
The contest’s theme is communication, so all songs related to dialing, radio, phone, internet, fax, and more are eligible. Choose your tune and sing it for our guest judges Arielle and Gloria of WGXC show "Las Brujas Bilingues" and DJ Paddy Boom of WGXC show "Vinyl Freedom" to win prizes.
Prizes include tickets to the Negativland + SUE-C, Matmos with Rodney Alan Greenblat opening show at the Greenville Drive-In and other goodies.
Doors are at 7pm and karaoke contest begins at 8pm. If you can’t turn out in person, tune in for a live broadcast of the event on the FM dial or online.

A co-presentation of Upstate Films, PlayTime, and Wave Farm in anticipation of a major live event at the Greenville Drive-in. Since childhood, David “The Weatherman” Wills has recorded and reported on anything that grabs his attention. When he and friends Richard Lyons and Mark Hosler formed Negativland, it soon became a collage of sounds and visuals, both ordinary and extraordinary. The group’s work is so expansive and unique that it cannot help but push boundaries of sound, media, propaganda, and perception. (Ryan Worsley, US, 2022, 99m). “Few artists have logged as many hours on the battlefield of fair use, let alone questioned as persistently the associated legal constraints around intellectual property, as Negativland, whose sonic, visual and performance appropriations and parodies have challenged eyeballs, eardrums and moral standards alike since the late 1970s.” — The Wire
