Itinerant Mind: Remulched (Audio)

Nov 18, 2017
Performed by Morrad + McArthur.

This month’s Itinerant Mind program is a remix by Ian McArthur of “90 Mins in Mulch”, a live performance by Annie Morrad (sax) and Ross Oliver (guitar, water, contact microphone) at Futureshock Analogue Fringe – Frequency Festival’s unofficial fringe exploring the role of analogue and ‘obsolete’ technologies within contemporary arts practice. The mix combines multiple recordings of the live performance with field recordings and additional electronic instrumentation.

Ross Oliver is a member of [gP] an artist collective living and working from Lincoln, UK. Promoting exchange with wider artist led initiatives nationally and internationally [gP] seeks to stimulate a critical discourse, and sustain an engaged visual arts culture in the city through the programming of exhibitions, events and workshops. The performance was conducted within the context of Mulch, an interactive sound installation that uses analogue sound effects to sculpt live sound environments by artists Rob Britt, Ross Oliver, Nick Simpson, Ellen Brady and Nathan Baxter.

Futureshock Analogue Fringe was curated by LPAC Producers, a group of young people who directly contribute to how Lincoln Performing Arts Centre is run by programming events, activities, performances and arts festivals.
