Donald Drumpf Theatre Volume 143 Impeaching Himself (Audio)

Oct 10, 2019
Produced by Tom Roe.

Volume 143 Impeaching Himself. This week, our hero seems like he wants to leave.

Songs this week from Nickelback ("Photograph"), Neil Young ("Let's Impeach the President"), The Whistleblowers ("It Takes Two"), Blondie ("Call Me"), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Clips and excerpts from Jimmy Kimmel; John Oliver; Seth Meyers; Stephen Colbert; The Wizard of Oz; Frank Figliuzzi; Michael Che; Travis Bickle; Jeff Mason; Cookie Monster; Brian Williams; Obi-Wan Kenobi; Nancy Pelosi; Colin Jost; Kristen Welker; Nicolle Wallace; Logan Roy and Rhea Jarrell from "Succession;" and Beck Bennett, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, and Matthew Broderick from "Saturday Night Live." "Donald Drumpf Theatre" is an original radio theatre show about a fictional, theatrical presidency, with most sounds culled from the previous week. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. The network has currently ordered another 15 episodes, but there are threats of cancellation. Anyone who would like to contribute to the show should contact info@wgxc.org.
