WGXC Afternoon Show: Aaron Levi Garvey, Shanekia McIntosh (Audio)
Aug 01, 2019
Aaron Levi Garvey, Curator of The Hudson Eye, a new multidisciplinary arts program being launched by the Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation, will phone in to tell us about this artist-driven festival being presented in Hudson over Labor Day weekend. In the second hour, hear about how Hudson Hall will be focusing on Herman Melville and his epic Moby Dick. Artist Shanekia McIntosh talks about her collaborative performance piece, "Call Me Ishmael," being presented Aug. 2 at the Second Ward Foundation as part of the celebration of Melville’s 200th birthday. Hosts Tom DePietro and Ellen Thurston will be giving away tickets to "Call Me Ishmael" during the broadcast.
The show features local news, interviews with community leaders and personalities, a rundown of local and regional events, weather updates, and more about and for the community. Call in to go on the air Sundays through Thursdays at 518-828-2090. Call in Fridays and Saturdays at 518-622-2598 to go on the air. Saturday the emphasis is more on radio art, and art on the radio.
