Donald Drumpf Theatre Vol. 170 Surprises. This week our hero wants you to respect his authority.
Thanks this week for the songs from X ("Surprise, Surprise"), Chicago ("Baby, What a Big Surprise"), Billy Joel ("Surprises"), Gnarls Barkley ("Surprise"), John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John ("Summer Lovin'"), Kanye West ("The Blame Game"), John Williams ("The Imperial March"); Schoolhouse Rock ("No More Kings"), Home ("Lost It"), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Clips and excerpts from Rod Serling; Rudy Giuliani; Cartman; Richard Nixon; Seth Meyers; Barack Obama; Peter Navarro; John Berman; "Tooning Out the News;" Alec Baldwin; Colin Jost; Michael Che from "Saturday Night Live;" Jimmy Kimmel; Mike Pence; Stephen Colbert; Paula Reid; Trevor Noah; Andrew Cuomo; Captain Bligh; Clarice Starling; and Desi Lydic. An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has ordered another 11 months of episodes. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this timeslot, should contact info@wgxc.org.
