During a year of political chaos and upheaval, there was also a lot of personal, creative inspiration for Sam Sebren, artist and creator of the Nothing Is Real Radio Hour. For this year end edition of NIRRH, Sebren looks back on some of his personal favorite, recorded performance moments in experimental sounds of 2017. Listeners will hear a sound collage made from live recordings of Sebren's current band projects, cut up and reassembled to form a new "collaboration" composition. Included will be sounds from Stick Sellers (solo), SS space systems (duo with Sam Rosen), and Council Of Poetic Experimentation (experimental collective with Steve Roe, Kevin Geraghty, Al Margolis, Dan Andreana, Detta Andreana, and other rotating players).

The Nothing Is Real Radio Hour broadcasts on WGXC 90.7-FM from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the fifth Saturday (of months with 5 Saturdays) as part of Wave Farm's Transmission Arts and Experimental Sound programming. The Nothing Is Real Radio Hour includes sound and transmission arts works by Sebren, and occasionally works by other artists, both pre-recorded and performed live in the studio.

In a multidisciplinary practice, much of Sebren's work has challenged notions of accepted reality in art, advertising, and public spaces. In mediums including sound, Sebren's work blurs actual, imagined, and technological realities as he critiques socio-political rules & regulations in our consumer "culture" and urges his audience to smile and re-think our priorities.
