Boys and Girls clubs were very much a part of growing up in the 60s for many of us. And a few of them actually had ham radio stations. RAIN Founder Hap Holly/KC9RP remembers spending many a summer afternoon in his local Boy's club in Escondido, California prior to securing his Novice class call sign, WN6UJH. Today the Menominee, WI. Boys and girls club reportedly has the only existing working in-house ham station nationwide. One ham who spends a considerable amount of energy and time with that club is Edward Engleman/kg8cx. Ed is a retired educator and ham radio volunteer for the Menominee DAR radio club. He spoke during the Instructor's forum at the 2015 Dayton Hamvention.
